The Indian Army and Assam Rifles rescued approximately 800 citizens under Operation Jal Rahat 2, amid severe floods in Manipur due to continuous downpour. All rescued persons were safely shifted to higher ground and secure locations, Assam Rifles said in a statement. Aid provided on site included drinking water, food packets and immediate medical assistance by health experts, it added.
