The Indian Army is acquiring 126 Light Utility Helicopters (LUH) from HAL to replace its aging Cheetah and Chetak fleets. These new-generation helicopters are specifically designed for high-altitude operations in challenging terrains like Siachen. The deal, currently in cost negotiation, will significantly enhance the Army's operational readiness and aviation capabilities along the borders.
