The Indian civil aviation sector received 1,019 hoax bomb threats in 2024, compared to 330 such threats received between 2018 and 2023, according to reports. Almost 60% of these threats were sent using social media platform X. The maximum threats (687) were received in October 2024. June 2024 witnessed 96 threats, followed by April (57), and November (51).
