The Indian Banks Association has urged the government and RBI to allow banks to immediately freeze suspicious accounts to combat rising cyber fraud. Highlighting the misuse of mule accounts and systemic delays, the IBA also proposed using AI-based monitoring and voter ID verification to detect fraud and safeguard the financial system from growing cyber threats.
