The Indian Coast Guard commissioned the second Adamya-class Fast Patrol Vessel, ICGS Akshar, on October 4. Built indigenously by Goa Shipyard Ltd, the 51-meter ship features 60% Indian-made components, 30 mm CRN 91 gun, two 12.7 mm SRCG machine guns, CPP propellers, advanced bridge and power systems. Based at Puducherry's Karaikal, it will enhance maritime surveillance and operational efficiency.
