World Health Organization (WHO) recently updated its consolidated guidelines on tuberculosis and undernutrition, using evidence from Indian doctor couple Dr Anurag and Dr Madhavi Bhargava's study. It has introduced recommendation for food assistance to household contacts of people with TB in food-insecure settings. The study showed nutritional support can reduce TB activation among close contacts.
