Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar criticised the Indian media, saying they often ask overseas cricketers about Indian cricket. "It's almost as if validation about Indian cricket and its cricketers has to be obtained from [them]," he said. Gavaskar added that the post-independence generation of Indian cricketers has no inferiority complex and is prepared to stand toe-to-toe with the opposition.
