Indian non-profit organisation, Educate Girls, which has helped over two million girls return to school and supported 2.4 million children through remedial learning programmes, received the Ramon Magsaysay Award. Founded in 2007, it works in more than 30,000 villages in UP, Rajasthan, MP, and Bihar. Founder Safeena Husain dedicated the award to girls who manage household duties while studying.
