CAG has flagged a loss of over ₹543.17 crore in Indian Railways for the year ending March 2023. In its report, national auditor said it found discrepancies in 25 cases across various zonal railways and independent rail projects. Key issues include Northern Railway’s failure to recover ₹148.61 crore in land fees and ₹55.51 crore in DMF dues by nine zones.
