Pramoda Devi Wadiyar of erstwhile Mysuru royal family called Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar's "Chamundi Hill not exclusive property of Hindus" remark "insensitive". She called Shivakumar's remark "unnecessary" and "avoidable". Shivakumar made the statement while reacting to opposition to government's invitation to Booker Prize winner Banu Mushtaq to inaugurate Mysuru Dasara 2025 celebrations.
