Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, who US President Donald Trump asked to quit, was heading Cadence Design Systems when the company was illegally selling chip-designs to a Chinese military university. Cadence pleaded guilty to the allegations in July, agreeing to pay $140 million to US. The university was believed to be using US-origin components to support nuclear explosive simulation.
