Delhi Police on Thursday opposed the bail plea of Delhi riots accused Sharjeel Imam in Supreme Court, saying that Sharjeel and his aides wanted a "regime change". Appearing for Delhi Police, ASG SV Raju said intellectuals, when they become terrorists, are more harmful than ground-level terrorists. The riots erupted in 2020 during widespread protests against Citizenship (Amendment) Act and NRC.
