Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) will start sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production by 2025-end at its Panipat refinery with 35,000-tonnes capacity/year, Chairman Arvinder Singh Sahney said. This will be India's first plant to build SAF from used cooking oil, sourced from large hotel chains and restaurants. This capacity will meet India's international airline SAF blending requirements by 2027.
