Ireland's President Michael Higgins has condemned the "despicable" racial attacks against Indians. "Such acts...obscure the immeasurable benefits people of India have brought to the life of this country," he said, adding that Ireland has "long been shaped by migration". An Indian-origin taxi driver and a six-year-old girl were among those subjected to brutal attacks recently.
