Islamic outfits including Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind are protesting against the decision of West Bengal Urdu Academy to invite Javed Akhtar for a mushaira (poetry) event in Kolkata. They are demanding that the invitation should be withdrawn accusing Akhtar of repeatedly speaking against Islam and Allah. "This person isn't a human but a devil in human guise," a Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind official said.
