The Islamic State terrorist group could exploit the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime to stage a comeback in Syria and neighbouring Iraq, Middle East leaders and their Western allies have warned. The group has started reactivating fighters in both countries, identifying targets, distributing weapons and stepping up recruitment and propaganda efforts, Reuters reported quoting sources.
