Israel has accepted a potential prisoner swap arrangement with Hamas under US President Donald Trump's proposed Gaza peace plan. This came after Hamas agreed to release all remaining hostages from its captivity, following which Israel will be required to free 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 1,700 Palestinians detained after the October 7 attacks that took place in 2023.
