Israel announced the creation of 22 new Jewish settlements in West Bank. While Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu termed the move as a "once-in-a-lifetime generation decision", the Palestinian President's spokesperson called it a "dangerous escalation" that will drag the region into a circle of violence. Jewish settlements in West Bank are considered illegal by most of the international community.
