Senior Hamas commander Musa Shaldan, who was regularly seen in videos of release of hostages, was killed in an airstrike, Israeli military and security agency Shin Bet said. Shaldan was the deputy commander of the Hamas Zeitoun Battalion in Gaza. Shaldan was involved in the October 7 attack on Israel and was seen leading Hamas' hostage release ceremonies.
