Israeli Defense Ministry revealed it used lasers to shoot down drones launched by Lebanon-based Hezbollah during their conflict last year. The new air defence system is a lower-powered version of Iron Beam laser interceptor, which will be operational in Israel by end of this year. The system costs about $1-5 (up to about ₹500) for each interception of a drone.
