Israel stepped up bombardment in northern Gaza after its military issued mass evacuation orders on Monday even as Israeli officials were due in US for renewed discussions on ceasefire. Israeli tanks pushed into areas of Gaza City and shelled several areas in north, leaving at least 25 people dead. US President Donald Trump said a truce could be reached soon.
