Maharashtra Deputy CM and NCP head, Ajit Pawar, criticised the ban on meat in Kalyan-Dombivli, Malegaon, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and Nagpur on Independence Day. "It is not right," Pawar said, arguing that since the days don't mark religious festivals, no sentiments will be hurt. "Those in rural parts and tribal communities actually enjoy non-vegetarian food on holidays," he added.
