CSK head coach Stephen Fleming called Ravichandran Ashwin's return to the franchise "a homecoming" after buying him for ₹9.75 crore at IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah. "There's an emotional attachment for Ashwin with Chennai," he added. "He has still got a very good skillset; his numbers are fantastic," Fleming further said.
