The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) praised Aamir Khan for releasing his recent film only in cinemas. "[Aamir's] decision to bring 'Sitaare Zameen Par' exclusively to cinemas is significant show of confidence in theatres," said MAI President Gianchandani. Further, Devang Sampat, CEO of Cinepolis India added, "We're incredibly grateful to Aamir Khan Productions for boldly standing by cinemas."
