Italy has sent a naval ship to help a Gaza-bound flotilla, which is carrying humanitarian aid for the people of the war-torn enclave. The flotilla was recently struck by drones, which activists alleged were launched by Israel. Notably, Italy has not formally recognised Palestine, despite several other Western nations doing so, following which violent protests erupted in the country.
