The Inland Waterways Authority of India plans to develop 51 new river cruise circuits across 47 national waterways by 2027. Under the Cruise Bharat Mission, the goal is to triple passenger numbers to 1.5 million. River cruise voyages rose from 371 in 2023-24 to 443 in 2024-25, marking steady growth in the sector.
