Jharkhand saw the highest urban-rural gap in average monthly per capita consumption expenditure (MPCE) in 2023-24 at around 83%, as per the government's Household Consumption Expenditure Survey. It was followed by Chhattisgarh (80%), Assam (79%), Maharashtra (78%), Odisha (74%) and Gujarat (74%). Kerala saw the lowest urban-rural gap at about 18%.
