For the past 28 years, schoolgirls from Indira Gandhi Secondary School in Maharashtra's Jalgaon have been making and sending handmade rakhis to soldiers posted at the border. Funded by their own pocket money, this heartfelt tradition began in response to a soldier's quote about missing festivals. Over 28,000 rakhis have been sent so far, honouring the spirit of Raksha Bandhan.
