Japan has proposed the IHI XF9-1 engine for India’s fifth generation-plus AMCA fighter jet programme, offering full technology transfer, joint development, and local manufacturing. The XF9-1 delivers over 11 tonnes of dry thrust and more than 15 tonnes with afterburner, providing supercruise capability and enhancing stealth with its compact design.
