Screenwriter Javed Akhtar said he is doubtful that the relations between India and Pakistan will improve in the future. "It is a bit late in the day for reconciliation. The situation, I do not think, will get much better politically," he said. Akhtar also criticised vested interest groups in Pakistan, particularly the army, for blocking peace efforts between the countries.
