Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) has fielded only four Muslim candidates out of 101 seats for the 2025 Bihar Assembly polls, down from 11 in 2020. The party's first list of 57 candidates had zero Muslim candidates, and the second list of 44 candidates had four names. Most of the 101 candidates are reportedly from backward and extremely backward classes.
