In the Jhansi murder case where a woman killed her mother-in-law, co-accused Anil Verma, Kamla’s lover, was shot and arrested during a police encounter. He allegedly opened fire when intercepted while attempting to sell stolen jewellery. Police retaliated, injuring him in the leg, and admitted him to Jhansi Medical College Hospital, under armed officer.
