A 41-year-old man in Dumka, Jharkhand, stabbed his 70-year-old mother to death, suspecting she practiced witchcraft. The accused, Ramjan Hembrom, stabbed his mother, Muni Soren, on October 28. She succumbed to injuries days later. Police said he blamed her for his daughter’s death. Ramjan has confessed to the crime and remains in judicial custody.
