Pannalal Mahato, a farmer from Saraiya Kundru village in Jharkhand's Ramgarh, has protected over 45 species of birds for over 27 years. He has transformed his village into sanctuary and nurtured injured birds. Pannalal can identify birds' voices and speak in their language. "Birds have moods too. It can be gauged by way they behave and make noise," he stated.
