The Jharkhand Assembly passed a resolution to send a proposal to the Centre recommending Bharat Ratna for veteran tribal leader and ex-CM Shibu Soren. The resolution was passed by voice vote. Supporting the move, Leader of the Opposition and BJP MLA Babulal Marandi, said, "I'd like to add the names of Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda and Binod Bihari Mahto."
