JioStar, the newly formed joint venture of Reliance Industries' Viacom18 and The Walt Disney Company's India unit, will lay off over 1,100 employees to cut overlapping roles following the merger, Mint reported citing sources. The affected employees include senior managers and directors. JioStar is reportedly offering a 'generous severance' as employees on notice will receive 6-12 months' salary.
