Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met 16th Finance Commission Chairman Arvind Panagariya and demanded a larger allocation for the state from the central tax pool for the five years beginning April 1, 2026. He said the state's share in central tax revenues dropped to 3.64% under the 15th Finance Commission (2021-26), down from 4.71% under the 14th Finance Commission (2015-20).
