Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, while speaking in Assembly, said Karnataka is releasing more water to Tamil Nadu than required. "That's the reason why we are insisting on balancing reservoir at Mekedatu...I don't know why Tamil Nadu is opposing it," he added. Tamil Nadu is protesting against the reservoir, saying that it'd lead to injustice to its people, especially the agrarian community.
