Karnataka government is considering imposing a 'congestion tax' on single-occupancy cars, starting with Outer Ring Road to ease traffic, reports said. The proposal was discussed at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh, with participation from industry leaders like Kiran Mazumdar. If a car with one occupant enters ORR, a congestion fee may be deducted automatically via FASTag.
