Karnataka Labour Minister Santosh Lad said that his department has summoned Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to explain the reason behind laying off 12,000 employees. Stating that it is alarming that they had to resort to large-scale job cuts, Lad said, "We have kept the sunrise companies outside the ambit of labour laws...we need to relook into it."
