The Karnataka Cabinet has reportedly considered a proposal to increase reservation for minorities under its housing schemes from the current 10% to 15%. State minister HK Patil said the decision was taken after observing a high number of homeless among minorities in the state. Calling it "unconstitutional", BJP's Amit Malviya said, "There can be no reservation based on religion."
