Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced that the Kaladan Multimodal Transit Transport Project will be fully operational by 2027. The ₹5,000 crore plan aims to boost Northeast India’s maritime connectivity and economy, including water metro projects, youth skill centres, and international trade routes linking Mizoram to Myanmar and Southeast Asia.
