The Karnataka government has recommended to the State Election Commission (SEC) to use ballot papers in place of the EVMs in all future local body elections. The state government also decided to authorise the SEC to prepare, revise, and, if required, redo the electoral rolls for these polls. This comes amid Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 'vote theft' allegations.
