Distilleries in Karnataka are up in arms against the hike in annual licence fees for distilleries. The Karnataka government is set to increase the annual licence fee for distilleries in the state by 50 percent, effective 1 July. This is a reduced rate from an earlier proposal of a 100 percent increase, which saw objections from the industry players.
