Former India batter Navjot Singh Sidhu opined that though Karun Nair is a very promising cricketer, his technical weakness has been exposed in the ongoing India-England Test series. Backing Sai Sudharsan to play the fourth Test, Sidhu said, "[He's] technically one of the soundest low-gravity batsmen whose hand-eye co-ordination and head is always completely above the toe, and a left-hander."
