DMK MLA and Karur District Secretary V Senthil Balaji described the recent Karur stampede as "the most heartbreaking tragedy" of his 29-year public service. He urged, "All parties must work together to ensure incidents like this never happen again in Tamil Nadu." The stampede occurred during TVK chief Vijay's rally in Karur, leaving 41 people dead and around 100 injured.
