In Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district, a man was arrested for murdering his mother and hanging her body to stage it as a suicide. The accused, Kishan Kishore, feared she would transfer her land and ₹3 lakh to his brother. A post-mortem revealed strangulation as the cause of death, leading to his arrest.
