Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the alleged attack on Catholic priests and nuns in Odisha's Jaleswar, calling it "Hindutva vigilantism". He said, "Reports of assault on Keralite Catholic priests and nuns...on false charges of religious conversion, reflect ongoing communal witch-hunt against Christians." The group was reportedly stopped on suspicion of forced conversions in Balasore district.
