Kerala government suspended a revenue department official, A Pavithran, for allegedly making insulting comments about nurse Ranjitha Gopakumaran, who was killed in Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad. Kerala's Revenue Minister called Pavithran's comments "heinous". Pavithran allegedly made casteist and obscene comments regarding Ranjitha in a post on Facebook. Ranjitha worked as a nurse in the UK.
