Vedavathi, a 68-year-old woman lives alone in a dim, mud-walled house without electricity or a bathroom in a forest-fringed village in Kasaragod, Kerala. When forest officers noticed her isolation, they began standing vigil outside her home during elephant movement. They helped her apply for electricity, raised funds, and got ₹1 lakh sanctioned to build her a bathroom.
